An outage here means enough regions agreed the site was unreachable to rule out a local fault: at least half of them, three or more, on two continents. Reached means the origin answered with anything below a 500. Monitored since Nov 2, 04:13 AM.
Why does fly.io appear down for some users but not others?
Outages are rarely all-or-nothing. A site can be unreachable from one region because of a CDN edge failure, an ISP routing problem, or a DNS change that has not propagated everywhere yet. Local causes matter too: a stale DNS cache, a VPN, or a corporate firewall can block a site that is perfectly healthy. That is why our checks run from multiple regions instead of one location.
What should I do if fly.io is down for everyone?
If every region reports it down, the problem is on the site's side and there is nothing to fix locally. Check the company's official status page or social accounts for updates, and try again in a few minutes. Most outages at well-run services resolve within the hour.
Can I get alerted when fly.io or my own site goes down?
Yes. Sentinel monitors any site around the clock from multiple regions and alerts you within moments of an outage, whether it is a service you depend on like fly.io or your own website. The free plan includes uptime monitoring with no credit card required.
Never be the last to know.
Sentinel watches your site around the clock from multiple regions and alerts you the moment it goes down, so you find out before your visitors do.
