For marketing and web teams
Website Monitoring for Marketing Teams
Landing pages checked every minute while the campaign runs, keyword rules that catch a blank or hijacked page, speed from four regions, and a warning before the certificate expires. Nothing to install.
Why marketing teams pick Sentinel
The site is yours. Now you'll know when it breaks.
Marketing owns the website and the campaigns that send people to it, but usually finds out about a broken landing page from a dropping conversion rate. Sentinel watches the pages that matter, from the places your audience is, and tells you the moment one stops working or stops saying what it should.
- Landing pages checked every minute on campaign day
- Keyword rules that catch a blank page or a hijacked one
- Warnings before the SSL certificate or domain expires
For the team that owns the website
Monitoring for the pages that bring in the leads
Campaign-day confidence
Point a monitor at the launch landing page and get an alert within a minute if it goes down while the ads are running. Pause the monitor afterwards, or keep it as the campaign's record.
Checks that read the page
A page can return 200 and still be broken. Keyword rules confirm the headline, the form or the price is present, and alert when text that shouldn't be there appears, like a pharmacy ad on your homepage.
Speed from where your audience is
Response times from four regions on every check, with DNS, connection, TLS and first-byte broken out. Spot a slow CDN edge or a bloated page before it shows up as a bounce rate.
SSL and domain renewals
The browser warning that greets visitors after a certificate expires costs more than any outage. Sentinel warns you weeks ahead on certificates and domains, with the registrar and date in the alert.
Alerts where the team already is
Slack, Microsoft Teams, Discord, Telegram or email. Send the web team the full alert and keep a quieter summary for the channel the whole department reads.
WordPress-friendly
Most marketing sites run WordPress, and most WordPress outages come from a plugin update. Sentinel watches from the outside, so it catches the white screen the moment it happens, whoever caused it.
We don't manage the server. Can we still use this?
Yes. Sentinel checks your site from the outside, the way a visitor does, so there's nothing to install and nothing the hosting company needs to do. You add the pages you care about and choose where alerts go.
Can it tell when a page is broken but still loading?
Yes. Keyword rules check the content of the page on every visit. Require the headline or the form, forbid a phrase like 'database error', and the monitor fails when the rule does. Up to ten rules per page, on the raw HTML or just the visible text.
How often are pages checked?
Every five minutes on the free plan, every minute on Starter and Pro, and every 30 seconds on Business. You set the interval per page, so a campaign landing page can run fast while the careers page runs slow.
Will it warn us before the SSL certificate expires?
Yes. The SSL check watches each certificate's expiry and alerts at the threshold you choose, 14 days by default. Domain expiry works the same way, so a lapsed renewal never takes the site down.
Can we see how fast the site is for visitors in other countries?
Yes. Every check records the response time from each of four regions, Virginia, Oregon, Germany and Singapore, with the DNS, connection, TLS and first-byte phases broken out. The charts show trends over time, and deployments can be marked on them.
Does it work with WordPress?
Yes, and it's one of the most common setups. Because Sentinel monitors from outside, it catches the outages WordPress is known for: a plugin update that white-screens the site, a theme change that breaks the homepage, a host that silently drops the database.
