Sentinel by rootstuff uses a small number of third-party service providers (sub-processors) to deliver the service. Each processes customer data only for the purpose described below, under its own security and privacy commitments.
Current sub-processors
| Sub-processor | Purpose | Location |
|---|---|---|
| Hetzner Online GmbH | Application servers and the primary database. All account and monitoring data is stored on Hetzner servers in Ashburn, Virginia. | United States |
| Akamai Technologies, Inc. (Linode) | A standby copy of the database in Chicago, Illinois, kept in sync for failover. Monitoring probe servers in Ashburn, Seattle, Chicago, London, Frankfurt, Singapore, Tokyo, Mumbai and Sydney. Each probe receives the settings of the monitors it checks (the URL, request headers and any credentials you add to a check) and holds check results only until they reach the main servers. | United States, United Kingdom, Germany, Singapore, Japan, India, Australia |
| Vultr Holdings, LLC | Monitoring probe servers in Toronto, São Paulo, Johannesburg, Tel Aviv, Seoul and Mexico City, handling monitor settings and check results the same way as the Akamai probes. | Canada, Brazil, South Africa, Israel, South Korea, Mexico |
| Amazon Web Services, Inc. | Database backups and stored report files (Amazon S3). | United States |
| Cloudflare, Inc. | DNS, content delivery and edge security in front of the application, and certificates for status pages on your own domain. | Global edge network |
| Stripe, Inc. | Payment processing. Card details are collected and stored by Stripe, and Sentinel never sees full card numbers. | United States |
| Postmark (ActiveCampaign, LLC) | Transactional and alert email delivery. | United States |
| Twilio Inc. | SMS alert delivery, for accounts that add and verify a phone number. | United States |
| Google LLC | Safety screening of monitored URLs (Web Risk), Lighthouse performance audits for monitors that enable them (PageSpeed Insights), support email (Google Workspace), and visitor analytics on the public website (Google Analytics). | United States |
Integrations you connect
When you connect a third-party integration, alert content is sent to that provider at your direction. For example, connecting the Sentinel Slack app sends alert messages to the Slack channels you choose. Signing in with Google or GitHub works the same way. These providers act on your instruction rather than Sentinel's, and you can disconnect them at any time from your dashboard.
